Perm University is the first in Russia to receive the gold medal of Oxford

Perm state university became the first and only winner of the medal “Gold Standard Internship Host”. The work of PSU was evaluated by colleagues from Oxford University on several criteria, including: feedback from students, the possibility of resources for trainees, the total duration of participation in summer educational programs. In Russia, students from Oxford can take internships in six institutions. These are the Hermitage, the Museum of the history of St. Petersburg, the ecological legal center “BELLONA”, PR-Agency EM Russia, Tomsk Polytechnic and Perm state universities.

Perm university organizes summer practice for Oxford student delegations for seven years in a row. Over the years, 155 students have been trained in various disciplines in Perm. As said on the website of Perm state university Lyudmila Kajaia, a Head of Department of international contacts: “We are convinced that academic success is closely connected with personal adaptation, especially for a student from afar. It is important for us that the guys feel at home.”

The “gold standard” from Oxford enables Perm University to present its programs for English students on a priority basis. In 2019, PSU offers undergraduate courses in computational and theoretical physics, microbiology and pharmaceutical chemistry. Oxfords will practice in the forest reserves of the Kama region, they will participate in river rafting. Museum workers and archivists will be trained in Perm for the first time: they will participate in the description of collections of antiquity, ancient Egypt and the middle ages in the Museum of history. Students studying Russian language and literature will practice at the faculty of Philology in autumn.

Perm University offers all students classes in Russian, assists in contact with scientific experts, introduces the city, helps in the arrangement of life.
