The XV conference of twin cities of Germany and Russia “Ways of mutual understanding: Partnership as a link in the German-Russian dialogue”was held in Duren. It was attended by representatives of the Ministries of foreign Affairs of both countries, politicians and members of public organizations. Simultaneously with the conference there was held the III youth forum of the “City in motion: is your project important!”. One of the goals of these events was the development of twin cities social projects for joint implementation, strengthening cooperation.
The forum was attended by delegates from two countries aged 18 to 30 years. Part of the work of the youth summit was devoted to the discussion of specific joint projects for implementation. From Russia have been pre-selected 11 filings, which included the draft prepared by the team of Perm-Duisburg. The team consisted of 3 representatives of Perm and delegates from Duisburg. Completion of all projects took place during the forum. Theirs idea was called “Change your yard – change yourself”, its purpose – to attract young people to participate in local government, in the improvement of the territory.
