The delegations of Perm and Louisville took part in the I Russian-American Municipal Forum, which was organized by the Union of Russian Cities with the participation of the American Public Organization “Twin Cities International”. In total, the forum was attended by 80 delegates, including mayors of Russian and American cities, deputies, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rossotrudnichestvo.
Perm Mayor Dmitry Samoilov in his speech spoke about the significance of the work of activists of the twinning movement and emphasized that it is relations between people, the interaction of twin cities that will allow us not to lose common ground and maintain favorable relations between states. Chairman of the Perm Committee of the organization “Related cities of Louisville” Thomas Damstorf noted that cities need to work together to overcome the challenges of the 21st century related to the preservation of the environment.
During a meeting with colleagues, Dmitry Samoilov invited the Louisville delegation to come to Perm in May 2020 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory together. This invitation was accepted with enthusiasm.
