The delegation of teachers from Perm State University completed a three-week training in Oxford at the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre at St. Anthony’s College. The citizens of Perm attended lectures and seminars by experts from various fields, including politics, sociology, law etc. The delegation was introduced to the educational system and to the system of student housing at the University of Oxford as well as got acquainted with the the city itself and the lifestyle of its citizens.
“Such training stimulates scientific and educational activities of the Department because it helps to update the materials that are necessary for the development of certain fields of the Faculty of Economics at Perm State University. For example, within this trip, we managed to conduct a business meeting with the director of the Oxfam Charity Retail, originally established in Oxford with further reach of international recognition», said Ekaterina Antineskul, training participant, Candidate of economic sciences (Ph.D.), head of the Marketing Department.
Such academic exchange is held every year within the Memorandum of Understanding between Perm State University and the University of Oxford as part of the programme Understanding Britain Today. Last summer students from Oxford completed their training course in Perm.
