Agrigento is a city in the Italian region Sicily.

First settlements in this area were founded by Greek colonists in 582 BC.

Area – 244 sq.km.

Population – 60, 000 people.

Agrigento is one of the Sicilian main tourist centres, with thermal springs just 70 km away from the town.

On June 10, 2005, Perm City Council (Russia) and Agrigento City Council (Italy) signed Declaration of Intent, which provides for the development of communication between the cities aiming at establishing sustainable amicable connections in areas of culture, education, trade and business.

Sister City of Perm since 2012.
