Louisville is situated in the Middle Eastern part of the USA, Kentucky. It was founded in 1778 and named after King Louis XVI of France, who supported French colonists in the USA.
Area – 1, 000 sq.km.
Population – 760, 000 people.
Major regional economic centre with highly developed industry and several universities. About third of the world’s amount of bourbon is produced at the Louisville plants.
Among Louisville natives, there are the 12th President of the USA Zachary Taylor and great boxer Muhammad Ali, in whose honour city organized a museum.
Sister City of Perm since 1994.
