City is situated in the East of the European part of Russia, on the embankment on Kama River.
It was founded in 1723.
Population – 1 million people.
Large industrial centre of Russia, leading industries are aircraft engine building, oil processing, engineering, IT. One of the significant transport hubs of the country, stands on Kama River, Trans-Siberian Railway is passing through the city.
Perm is the participant of «European Capital of Culture» project, place of carrying many festivals.
